There was a green gator pool float bouncing through a crowd of Grafton High School students. The Pep Band was in full swing, the cowbell player enthusiastically pounding her instrument to keep the time.
And on the field, there was the satisfying crunch of Grafton High School students crashing into their counterparts from Nashoba Regional High School, a sound missing from Friday nights since the pre-Covid time of 2019.
Football is back, and the new Gator mascot proved to be a lucky one as Grafton easily defeated Nashoba, 41-21.
