Passes available for Silver Lake Beach starting June 14, Grafton residents only

Silver Lake Beach will open June 26 for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic started and is allowing only Grafton residents with season passes to hit the sand.

“We ask for your patience as we navigate this season with minimal and new supervisory and lifeguarding staff,” Recreation Director Jen Anderson wrote in an announcement.

The beach will operate daily, weather-permitting, June 26-August 15. Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Hours may be changed based on staff availability.

Outside of the hours of operation or when the beach is closed, swimming is not allowed and facilities will be closed. Parking is always prohibited along Rte. 140.

Covid requirements by the state now include unvaccinated patrons wearing masks when unable to remain distant. The Rec Department is also asking that masking is also followed when using restrooms and approaching staff but are not required while in the water.

  • Amenities Available: Lifeguarded Bathing Beach, Picnic Tables, Charcoal Grills, Restrooms, Outdoor Shower/Footwash, Dock Platform, Concession Stand (with reduced offerings to start – Snacks, Drinks, and Ice Cream Only)
  • Amenities Not Available: Swim Lessons, Deep Water Raft, Kayak Rentals, Birthday Parties, Pavilion Rentals 
  • Fees: To start the season, only Season Passes will be available and only to Grafton residents. After the season is under way, the possibility of expanding the offerings will be considered one at a time in the following order: Day Passes for Grafton residents, Season Passes for non-residents, and Day Passes for non-residents.
  • Season Passes: Family (immediate family members in household)$45; Individual $20; Senior (up to two people) $10. Residents must show proof of residency via ID, vehicle residency or utility bill.  
  • Pass Purchase: Passes will be available for purchase online starting June 14. It is encouraged to purchase your pass online in advance as availability may be limited.Visit GraftonRec.com. Passes will be available for in-person purchase at the beach, June 21 – 25, Monday-Friday, from 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m., and then during beach hours of operation starting June 26. 
  • Pass Pickup: Passes purchased online may be picked up at the beach June 14 – 25, Monday-Friday, from 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m., and then during the beach hours of operation starting June 26.
