On Sunday, Grafton joins #UnitetheNight
Times are dark. But to make things just a little bit brighter, Grafton Recreation is asking residents to join the national campaign Unite the Night.
Every Sunday at 8 p.m. during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, people across the country will be lighting luminaries and placing them on their front walks or sidewalks for an hour to send a message of hope. The campaign site has a tutorial on how to make luminaries.
“Let’s join the campaign to #UnitetheNight and light up the night with luminaries to line our streets every Sunday night until the stay at home order has been lifted,” the Grafton Recreation announcement states. “It’s times like this where we all need a little unity, a little peace. Times like this where we could all use a little support from one another. We as a town and nation need to remember that we are all in this together.
“This event was organized to give us pause, a chance to take a deep breath and realize that no matter what, we need to support each other and work together to beat this thing.”
