Egg-cellent news: Egg hunt will have same-day tickets available

The eggs are filled. The forecast calls for sun. And a certain rabbit is planning to hop across Grafton Common Sunday for the first time in two years for the Friends of the Grafton Public Library’s Spring Egg Hunt.

Grafton Cadette Girl Scout Troop 30260 spent an afternoon carefully filling hundreds of eggs with candy in preparation for the event, planned for Saturday with start times of 10 or 11 a.m. Tickets are sold in advance at the Grafton Public Library for $5, with limited tickets available at the Common that morning.

The Egg Hunts start promptly so be sure to line up (with your baskets) in time to hand in your tickets at the gate directly across from the Grafton Public Library. Print your child’s name and phone number on the back of the ticket to enter a raffle. There will be two raffle prizes at each hunt.

Each child gets to hunt for ten candy-filled or toy-filled eggs; a golden egg means an extra special prize. There are three gold eggs in each hunt.

Tickets are available in advance at the Grafton Public Library for $5. Please be on time as latecomers cannot be accommodated. There are a total of 100 tickets available for purchase for each hunt.

Afterward, the children are invited to walk over to the library to do crafts and listen to springtime stories. Kids can also recycle eggs at the library. Like all events hosted by the Friends, proceeds benefit library programs. Friends of the Grafton Public Library membership is open to the public. Pick up a brochure at the library to join and help out the Friends throughout the year.
