Grafton resident tests positive for COVID-19

A Grafton resident has tested positive for COVID-19, the first confirmed case in town of the Coronavirus that has caused a global pandemic.

The town was notified Saturday by the Central Massachusetts Regional Health Alliance. As of Saturday, there are 525 confirmed cases in Massachusetts; there are two deaths with COVID-19 confirmed as the cause.

Public health officials will be notifying people with whom the individual has been in contact. The person’s name, age, and gender have not been released due to HIPPA.

The CMRPHA continues to work with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to ensure any affected residents are properly monitored, quarantined and isolated as each case dictates.

The Worcester Regional Health Alliance has established a COVID-19 information line for Grafton Residents to use at 508-799-1019. If you would like to reach out via email, you may do so at Health@worcesterma.gov.
