Grafton Recreation wants you to run a virtual road race
The annual Grafton Gazebo Road Race planned for this weekend may have fallen victim to cancelation by COVID-19, but Grafton Recreation is now offering an alternative.
During the month of May, it’s challenging runners to Go the ‘Social’ Distance with a virtual 5K.
Here’s how it works: register at https://event.racereach.com/graftonrecvirtual5k anytime between May 1-25.
Post your route screenshots and race selfies on the Grafton Recreation Facebook page by tagging @GraftonRecDept in your social media feeds.
“This is not a race, just a commitment to complete a total of 3.1 miles by walking or running in multiple short distances or all at once by May 25,” Grafton Recreation notes.
Submit your time by May 25 at 11:59pm. Winners will be announced on May 29.
The overall male and female winners will receive a $25 Grafton Grill Gift Card.
Everyone who completes the distance and enters their results will be entered to win prizes, including a Silver Lake Beach t-shirt, $10 Bushel ‘n Peck Gift Card, and $10 Cones on the Common Gift Card, plus a $10 Quite Fetching Barkery Gift Card for the best photo with your dog while social distance running/walking.
