Grafton seniors can receive new File of Life Cards Wednesday

The Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis will be stopping by the Grafton Senior Center Wednesday to distribute new File of Life Vax Cards.

“These cards can literally save a life, when seconds really matter,” Evangelidis said. “EMTs are trained to look for these magnetic cards upon entering a home. These cards provide important information on medications, prescriptions, and now Covid information. I have one one my refrigerator at home.”

The sheriff’s office is the first organization in Worcester County to distribute the cards, in partnership with Dr. Moses Dixon and Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging.

The cards will be distributed at the Grafton Senior Center at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 31.

Files of Life are used to assist first responders and are kept on your refrigerator in a magnetic case with all of your medical data, doctor information, current allergies, emergency contact info and much more. EMT personnel say these cards can save lives, especially when individuals are non-responsive.

The new File of Life now also includes space for COVID vaccination information, dates, and manufacturer and is also a great way to store your CDC-issued vaccination card.
