Grafton man killed after car plunges into the ocean
A 21-year-old Grafton man was killed Sunday morning after his car plunged into the ocean off Menauhant Beach in Falmouth.
The man, who police did not identify outside of his age and residence, apparently was speeding early Sunday, missed a stop sign, crossed over Menauhant Beach, and landed in the water on its roof, according to Falmouth police. The car was not spotted until about 9:30 a.m.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The victim’s name has not been released. State Police referred any inquiries about him to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Falmouth Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police collision analysis and reconstruction section.
