Want to help your neighbors? Donate to Grafton Strong

The town has established a “Grafton Strong” account to help residents and businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19, pandemic.

“It was on the list of things to do,” Town Administrator Tim McInerney said. But then Lexington Town Manager Jim Malloy — who lives in Grafton — contacted his office and suggested that the town take action.

“It was really a collaborative effort,” McInerney said. “I came up with the Grafton Strong tagline, nothing original.”

McInerney thanked Unibank, which is hosting the fund among others, as well as the Homefield Credit Union, which is also hosting charity accounts. He said the town will be creating a list of charities associated with local coronavirus fundraising.

Residents (and others) can donate via the website, allowing them to maintain social distancing while offering some comfort. Once on the Grafton Unipay site, login, click “Donation” then click “Grafton Strong Donations.”

The funds will be held in accordance with MGL Ch. 44, 53A until the Select Board authorizes the expenditure of the gift funds for the purpose in which they were intended.
