Town Meeting 2021: When to go, what to do, masks and… paddles?

Grafton Town Meeting is Saturday, June 5, at the Grafton High School football field, with seating available in the gym for those with mobility issues or are concerned about sitting in the sun.

Special Town Meeting begins at 11 a.m., Spring Town Meeting starts at 11:30 am.

PARKING

  • Parking will be available at Grafton High School, the Municipal Center, and the GCTV parking lot

CHECK-IN

  • Begins at 10:00 AM at the Basketball Courts
  • Registration tables for each Precinct
  • Each registered voter will receive a paddle for use during voting
  • 300 printed copies of the Warrant Articles will be available
  • Upon exiting the basketball court, either head to the football field or the gymnasium

FOOTBALL FIELD SEATING

  • 300 seats available, will be set up 6 feet apart
  • AV will broadcast the presentations on screen
  • Microphones will be set up at the front of the field for debate
  • Moderator will be doing a hand count only, using the paddles

GYMNASIUM SEATING

  • 150 seats are available, will be set up 6 feet apart
  • AV will broadcast the meeting from the football field to the gym
  • 150 printed copies of the presentation will be available in the gym
  • Deputy Moderator will be in Gym with a microphone for debate
  • Deputy Moderator will count in the gym (hand count only, using the paddles)

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Umbrellas are allowed, but we ask that those using them seat themselves in the back of the field
  • Bathrooms available in the High School and there will be Port-a-Potties on the field
  • Bring sunscreen
  • Bring plenty of cold drinks
  • Children are welcome, as long as they stay with their families
  • Ambulance will be on-site
  • There will be EMTs, Police, and the CERT Team on the field

COVID-19 PROTOCOL

  • Those who have NOT been vaccinated, masks are strongly encouraged
  • Those who have been vaccinated, masks are not required
  • Seating will be 6 feet apart for social distancing
