South Grafton’s Polish National Home sells for $635,000
The Polish National Home, shuttered by the pandemic after decades serving as a gathering place for the town’s Polish community, was sold last week to a Grafton resident after a year on the market.
The Worcester Business Journal reported Monday that the property sold for $635,000 to a corporation registered to Michael Labbe, owner of All Phase Glass Corp. of South Grafton. Plans for the site are unknown.
A monument dedicated to the 80 Polish-American citizens from Grafton who served in World War II has already been removed from the property to the South Grafton Community House, which houses VFW Post 1497.
The Polish National Home on 7 Main St. in South Grafton dates back to 1935, built by Polish immigrants attracted to Grafton by the mills in the early 1900s.
The 1.2 acre property is assessed by the Town of Grafton for $483,900.
