School Notebook: GHS AP students tops; student-athletes offer Easter baskets

Grafton High School’s Advanced Placement students achieved the highest AP scores in Southern Worcester County and Blackstone Valley in 2021, according to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

GHS Principal Kevin Carney said 74.1 percent of Grafton students achieved the qualifying scores between 3-5 compared to the state average of 31.1 percent.

Massachusetts, for the second consecutive year, was first in the nation in the percentage of graduating high school seniors who scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam. Students who score a 3, 4, or 5 are eligible for credits at most colleges.
