Reporter’s Notebook: Not all residents get the joke; no special deliveries at GHS

If you’re not a fan of dad jokes, maybe don’t visit the Town of Grafton’s Facebook page on Wednesdays.

For the past few weeks, Town Administrator Evan Brassard has lightened up a page that usually announces trash delays, COVID-19 stats, and town committee openings with jokes that are so bad, they come right back around to… good? Amusing, maybe.

Is your child unsatisfied with the cafeteria offerings at Grafton High School? Do they need a caffeine pick-me-up during the school day?

Principal Kevin Carney is asking parents and students to refrain from ordering meals and having food delivered to the high school.

“If students forget belongings that they need for school, including lunch, there is a drop off cart at the main entrance where parents can leave the items,” Carney wrote in a message to parents. “Student scan pick up their items when they are not in class. Please write the student’s name on the items. We cannot accommodate or facilitate food order deliveries and transactions.”
