Opinion: Show thanks to grocery employees with gift cards

A good day to you all,

This morning at 6:00 a.m., while at the “Stop & Shop Senior 1K Shopping Spree,” I thought about how thankful I was that S & S employees were still working, stocking up, cleaning and being helpful to me.

To show my thankfulness, I bought multiple $10 S & S Gift Cards and gave one to each S & S employees at the checkout area.  It was a small token but appreciated by each of them.

If you have the means, perhaps you should consider doing the same on your next trip to whatever market you favor; it’s an easy way to say thank you.

On my next trip, I’m going to buy the Gift Cards on the way in and give  them to S & S employees as I shop, ensuring equitable distribution of my thanks.

Don’t Forget The Grafton Food Bank during this crisis!

They now only accept monetary donations and local Supermarket Gift Cards for distribution to their clients who have previously been dependent on our stocked Food Bank at the Municipal Center to help get by.

Go to graftonfoodbank.org for information.

Supermarket Gift cards are generally available in amounts from $10 to $100. Cordial thanks for letting me intrude into your spring morning. If you favor my suggestion, please forward it to others.
