On Super Tuesday, Grafton favors Biden as Democratic presidential nominee

Grafton decided former Vice President Joe Biden was ready for the Oval Office, with local Democrats choosing him over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the Super Tuesday presidential primary.

Polls did a brisk business all day long, with 3,367 voters turning out to cast votes. Six percent of those voters chose to vote during early voting last week, but there was a twist — in the time between their votes and the actual primary, both Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Indiana Mayor Pete Buttgieg dropped out of the race to endorse Biden.

On the Republican side, President Donald Trump easily fought off challenges from former Massachusetts Gov. William F. Weld, former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh, and Roque “Rocky” De la Fuete.

Grafton cast 3,101 Democratic ballots and 741 Republican ballots. Unofficial vote tabulations Tuesday night:
