Nature’s Remedy still in the weeds when it comes to Grafton marijuana plant

Nature’s Remedy is delaying its plans for a marijuana cultivation and processing facility in Grafton for the fourth year in a row.

The company, one of the state’s largest marijuana companies, was recently acquired for $110 million by Jushi Holdings Inc., a publicly traded multi-state cannabis company. It has had a Host Community Agreement for with Grafton to cultivate and process marijuana at 8 Millennium Drive since 2017.

The facility would not sell products to the general public. Nature’s Remedy also has retailers in Millbury and Tyngsboro, as well as a cultivator in Lakeville.

Representatives from the company will meet with the Select Board Monday to transfer the HCA to Jushi Holdings. It is also scheduled to meet with the Planning Board on August 23 to modify its special permit to reflect new ownership and request a fourth one-year extension.

The town also has three HCAs with potential retailers:

  • Discern’d Cannabis Purveyors, 130 and 134 Worcester Street, which is under construction;
  • Resinate, which would be located at 135 Westboro Road inside the building that hosts Pecorino;
  • MJ’s Market, 13 Centennial Drive, a cultivator and retailer.

Town Meeting in June expanded Grafton’s marijuana retail licenses to three after the Select Board, frustrated by the lack of progress, hashed out a joint article with the Economic Development Commission.
