Looking for a Great Pumpkin? Pick your own Saturday

If you’re looking for a sincere pumpkin patch to wait for the Great Pumpkin, there’s no better place than the pick-your-own patch at Houlden Farm.

The farm, located at 139 Old Westboro Road, offers its pick-your-own event for families Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. A play area for kids is available, as well as some four-legged kids — the friendly family of goats beside the pumpkin patch.

Also on Saturday, the Congregational Church of Grafton is holding a yard sale of household items, books and toys in the church parking lot as part of its annual Harvest Fair and Apple Pie Social, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Masks are required to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

But what about the pies?

Frozen apple pies, frozen chili, fresh chowder and shortbread cookies may be ordered for pickup at the church on Sundays, September 27, October 4, and October 11, 2 to 4 p.m. Order from the menu here before 5 p.m. the preceding Thursday.

If you are unable to pick up your order on any of those dates, call Sue at 508-596-7366, or Joanne at 508-614-5309 to schedule an appointment.
