Letter: Roy is ‘fiscally responsible, civic-minded and driven’
My name is Brendan Tedstone and I want to take a moment to speak my support for Colleen Roy, a candidate for your Select Board this month.
I have had the privilege of knowing Colleen for decades. We worked together years ago. She has always been driven and extremely
passionate about her work. She is a forward thinker and is laden in common sense. I am in my second term as a Selectman, presently the Chairman, in Hopkinton and can assure you that there are very few meetings that we have that she doesn’t follow up with an email or question about why I voted the way I did or what my thoughts are on a particular issue. She has been a guest at our ATM since she moved out of town years ago.
Colleen grew up in a family that had civic duty and volunteerism in their blood. Her father has served very effectively on many boards and
committees, her uncle did so much for the town they named the new DPW after him, her grandfather was a Lieutenant on the Hopkinton Fire Department and Water Department Superintendent. Her family’s name is held in very high esteem in Hopkinton.
She knows what a commitment it is to undertake a position like Select Board member. Having served as a Selectman for many years with many Selectmen and Selectwomen, I know what it takes to succeed and lead a town, and Colleen is it. She’s fiscally responsible, civic-minded and driven.
She’s the kind, compassionate and caring person that you need on your board. So I humbly ask for you to vote for Colleen when you go to the polls on June 23.
