Letter: Carlson endorses Roy, Often for Select Board

My name is Peter Carlson, and I am a sitting member of the Grafton Select Board. I am writing this letter today to support both Mathew Often and Colleen Roy for Grafton Select Board.

During local elections, I have stated time and time again that we are all neighbors and citizens of Grafton. I understand the importance of feeling allegiance to friends; however, we have a responsibility as citizens of Grafton, to elect the strongest leaders during this time of crisis.

I feel that during this time of uncertainty, Grafton cannot afford to continue doing business as usual. Grafton needs to break this common theme that we have experienced year after year. We need leaders who can tackle the extreme challenges that we as a community face today as well as plan for our future.

We need leaders who can focus on many different fronts and not shy away from meaningful discussion, especially on topics that may seem uncomfortable.

Mathew and Colleen are not afraid to share the facts with Grafton. They believe that all citizens need to be informed. They demonstrate thoughtful leadership and listen to all points of view and embrace participation from the community.As Grafton continues to evolve, we have an opportunity to decide who is best to lead us. Mathew and Colleen can address challenges, promote engagement, and provide the necessary transparency that our town is lacking.
