Grafton ballots will be counted Thursday morning

The misplaced 202 Precinct 2 ballots from last week’s town election will be counted Thursday morning after a Superior Court ruling.

The count will be held in Conference Room A of the Grafton Municipal Center and will be broadcast live on GCTV at 11 a.m.

The unopened ballots, misplaced in the Town Clerk’s vault during the flurry of election preparations, were discovered Tuesday.

The Town received a ruling from the Superior Court today to allow for the counting of the 202 ballots that were discovered after the election. The first count will occur tomorrow, July 2nd at 11am in the Grafton Municipal Center, Conference Room A. The count will be broadcast live to the Local Cable Access Government Channel (Verizon 33 and Charter 193). Should Conference Room A not accommodate all members of the public who wish to be present, counting will occur in the gym and will be recorded for playback. Anyone wishing to attend the count must check in at the front door of the Municipal Center, wear a mask, and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
