Lace up your running shoes: Harvest Home 5K is returning

Registration is now open for the 15th annual Harvest Home 5K, a run through Grafton Land Trust trails that benefits the Community Harvest Project.

That 15th annual comes with an asterisk: due to COVID-19, the event last took place in 2019. But aren’t we all pretending 2020 never happened?

Registration is $30 for adults through October 11, $35 through November 3, and $40 on the day of the race, November 7. For children under 15, the cost is $15 through November 3 or $20 on November 7.

The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Barn, 37 Wheeler Road, concluding back at the farm just in time for the Harvest Home Fall Festival at 11 a.m. Admission to the festival is free for race participants, $10 per person otherwise, and free for children under 5.

This year’s festival will feature in-person and online aspects including an online auction, food and drink, kids activities, a scarecrow contest, pumpkin trebuchets, apple cannons, and a live stream of the 1 p.m. Patriots game.

All proceeds for this event will support Community Harvest Project’s mission to engage and educate volunteers to grow fruits and vegetables for hunger relief.
