Iconic Grafton Inn up for sale for $1.9 million

For just $1.9 million, you can buy the historic Grafton Inn: tavern, guest rooms, and a ghost named Martha included.

Built in 1805 by Samuel Wood, the iconic three-story inn sits at 25 Grafton Common, with views of the Grafton Common Historic District. From the cupola, closed to the public for years, the very tip of Mount Wachusett can be seen if the leaves are off the trees.

The sale includes Hunter’s Grille & Tap on the main floor, a second floor 120-seat function room with its own bar and kitchen, and seven rooms for weary travelers.

Martha is said to make herself known in Room 7, but other guests book online.

The inn is only the latest Grafton landmark to be placed for sale in the last year. The Grafton Flea Market sold for $1.1 million in January, with new owner Dung Kim Do planning to re-open on April 3. The Polish National Home in South Grafton also went on the market in 2021, but is currently off the market.

The inn was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is part of the Grafton Common Historic District.

The property is listed with Marty Green Properties.
