Haze Cannabis hopes to clear the air about marijuana plans

A community outreach meeting will be held on February 21 for Haze Cannabis, which is planning a marijuana retailer in the space formerly planned for Resinate.

Haze Cannabis owner Colonel Boothe purchased 135 Westborough Road from Resinate, which spent several years attempting to develop the property. Boothe told the Select Board in December that the building, formerly the home of Anzio’s, was in poor condition but he was hoping to get it finished by mid-March.

In addition to retail sales, Boothe is hoping to establish a Host Community Agreement for manufacturing cannabis products such as gummies or trans-dermal products.

As of last spring’s Town Meeting, Grafton has a maximum of three permitted cannabis retailers. The first, MJ’s Market, opened in October at 13 Centennial Drive. Construction has resumed at Discern’d Cannabis Purveyors, 130 and 134 Worcester Street, but a completion date is unknown — although it does have a billboard installed on the Mass Pike.

Jushi Holdings, which acquired Nature’s Remedy in the fall, has an undetermined timetable on when it might bring its planned Grafton grow facility online. It does not have plans for retail sales.

The community outreach meeting for Haze Cannabis will be on February 21, 6 p.m. via Zoom at http://tinyurl.com/HazeOfGrafton. Questions will be allowed at the end of the meeting.
