Grafton’s Steinmetz signed by Washington Football Team

Grafton’s David Steinmetz was signed as an offensive tackle to the Washington Football Team Friday, his third NFL team.

Steinmetz, 25, is a 2013 Grafton High School graduate and led its 2012 football team to a Super Bowl win against Northbridge.

He hasn’t had game time in the NFL yet, but he was a standout at the University of Rhode Island and Perdue University, though he went undrafted. The 6-foot-8, 321 lb. Steinmetz has previously spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans.

The team formerly known as the Redskins waived Thaddeous Moss and signed Joshua Garnett alongside Steinmetz.
