Early College courses prove popular at Grafton High

How popular is the Early College program at Grafton High School?

In only two years, requests for enrollment in the four Quinsigamond Community College courses — Business Law, English 101 and 102, Pre-Calculus, and Principles of MacroEconomics — have increased from 60 requests in 2020 to 413 in 2022.

“It is expected that QCC will not be able to meet the demand for the Early College English courses next year because they may not have enough professors to provide GHS,” GHS Principal Kevin Carney wrote in an email. “Therefore, we are actively seeking additional college and university partners to meet course requests.”

The two English courses for the 2022-23 school year have 205 student requests.

The courses, if completely successfully, provide three college credits per course and five GHS credits with Advanced Placement credit per course.
