Do you have what it takes to join the School Committee?

Wanted: A volunteer with an interest in the education of Grafton’s students, brave enough to tackle the job until at least the next election in May. Must have Tuesdays free, a willingness to delve into the budget process, and a thick skin.

The search is now open for a person to replace Rahul Rathi, who resigned last month for personal reasons. He was elected in 2020.

Those interested may forward a letter of interest outlining qualifications and background to the Office of the Select Board, Grafton Municipal Center, 30 Providence Road, Grafton, MA 01519, or email taoffice@grafton-ma.gov by close of business on January 20.

The School Committee and Select Board will meet at 6 p.m. on February 1 to interview applicants and select a new member. The remaining year of the position will be up for election in May.

The School Committee generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Individuals must be a registered voter and possess a basic understanding or knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the subject multiple member body.
