Celebration is in full flower Saturday at Community Harvest Project

The flowers are blooming at the Community Harvest Project.

Everyone knows the Community Harvest Project for its mission to provide fresh produce to the hungry.

But even the volunteers who cultivate its fields need to take time to smell the flowers.

The Carolyn’s Garden Summer Flower Festival this weekend, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, features a pick-your-own flower field, flower arranging workshops, tours of the 37 Wheeler Road farm, kids crafts, live music and food. Admission is $10 and includes five free flowers, with additional flowers offered at $1 each. Children under 10 are free.

Carolyn Tay of Sparkz Photography is also offering $25 mini-photo sessions.

The festival is held in memory of Carolyn Ambrose, CHP’s former development manager, who passed away in 2019 after a brave battle with cancer. All proceeds support Community Harvest Project’s mission to engage and educate volunteers to grow fruits and vegetables for hunger relief.
