Celebrate Grafton’s Indian community Saturday
The flag of India will once again fly at the Municipal Center Saturday in honor of the 75th anniversary of Indian independence.
It will be the second year Grafton will host India Day festivities in honor of the more than 300 Indian families in town. The celebration begins at 9 a.m.
About 60-70 people are expected.
On August 15, 1947, India gained her independence from 200 years of British colonial rule with peaceful civil disobedience and nonviolence.
