Artist submissions sought for Grafton’s Small Stones Festival

Calling all fine art painters, photographers, watercolorists and two-dimensional artists!

The Art Call for the 2022 Small Stones Festival for the Arts opens on Friday, July 15. A juried art show in its fifth year, Small Stones Festival of the Art showcases the region’s finest artists and will be held in October.

The Small Stones Festival of the Arts is a collaboration of Apple Tree Arts, the Worcester County Camera Club, the Blackstone Valley Arts Association, the Shakespeare Club of Grafton and Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra. The festival will include a juried exhibition of photography and painting, a major musical performances event arranged by Apple Tree Arts and Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra, and a new Literary Track. Art will also be available for purchase on site at the exhibition. Admission is free to the general public.

The two categories include: Fine Arts Photography and Fine Art Painting & Drawing. Cash prizes for each category include: First $500; Second: $250; and Third $100.

Six prestigious jurors will select prizewinners among the accepted entries.

All entries will be published online meeting minimum requirements. Juried works will be featured in our hardcover exhibition catalog.

Submission deadline occurs when entries reach 500.

This year’s festival will be held October 14-23 in three locations, including the Great Hall at Apple Tree Arts, the Grafton Public Library and the Congregational Church of Grafton.
