Advent is outdoors at St. Mary’s Church starting Friday

The Grafton Catholic Youth Group is sponsoring Advent Outdoors at St. Mary’s Church each Friday starting November 27.

The outdoor service is meant to share the season out to the parish community, especially those who not comfortable worshipping inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lights will be on every night, 4-10 p.m. through the New Year, with benches placed to allow quiet reflection.

The Advent Candle will be lit each Friday at 6:30 p.m. There will be a short prayer before the lighting:

  • Friday, Nov. 27 – the Candle of Hope – Caroling in front of the trees
  • Friday, Dec. 4 – the Candle of Love – Making a craft to be mailed to the Homebound
  • Friday, Dec. 11 – the Candle of Joy – Hot chocolate with candy canes and s’mores around several firepits
  • Friday, Dec. 18 – the Candle of Peace – A Christmas movie in the upper parking lot with popcorn (bring your own chair/blanket).  If weather is not ideal, it will be with a limited number of people in the Parish Hall.
