Municipal Center shuttered due to staff Covid breakout
Staffing shortages caused by COVID-19 has forced the closure of the Municipal Center through January 18.
Town employees will work remotely during this time period, according to a news release from Town Administrator Evan Brassard. The Omicron variant of the virus, now entering its second pandemic year, has proved to be especially infectious, causing breakthrough infections even in fully vaccinated and boosted people
Staff will continue to be available via email or phone. A Zoom call may be scheduled if a meeting is required.
The move comes one day after the Board of Health issued an executive order requiring the use of masks in all public spaces, including stores, restaurants, churches, and gyms. All town buildings had already required masking and the Grafton Public Library announced this week it is moving all its programming online to protect their youngest clients from the virus.
The drop boxes in front of the Municipal Center will continue to be utilized for all bill payments and documentation that needs to be delivered to departments. If you plan to drop off documentation for a specific employee or department, coordinate with them so that we ensure it is collected promptly.

The town will reassess its staffing capacities on Tuesday, January 18.
