Food trucks and music head for Grafton Common in October

A celebration featuring food from local restaurants, music, and other activities is planned for October 2 at Grafton Common to benefit the Small Stones Festival for the Arts.

Organizer Sean Padgett, owner of the Town House Tavern, asked the Select Board Tuesday to have the road in front of the Congregational Church of Grafton closed down to accommodate food trucks and booths.

“If we can make a few thousand dollars for Small Stones, we’ll be happy,” Padgett said.

The road will be closed down from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., although the event is scheduled to start around midday. Padgett is hoping to attract people to the Common area to cheer on runners for the Michael Cherry Memorial Run, which is scheduled for earlier in the day.

Padgett is hoping to create an annual event if it’s successful.
