Letter: Anderson announces candidacy for Town Moderator

I am writing to announce my candidacy for Grafton Town Moderator.

My husband and I have resided in Grafton since 2007 and have two children in the Grafton Public Schools. I have strong analytical, observational, and communication skills, and I served as Parliamentarian for a national sorority. I am not new to public service and believe in the value of giving back to the community.

I understand the importance of the position of Town Moderator and upholding the traditions of Town Meeting. An efficiently run Town Meeting, standards set by the previous Moderator, are necessary for productive democratic debate and essential to presenting attendees with more than one point of view.

I am a taxpayer, a parent, a friend, and a neighbor committed to my community. 2020 made me recognize how powerful and important local communities are, and I wanted to contribute more. I volunteered with the Grafton Public Library Capital Campaign Committee and the Grafton Middle School Advisory Panel.

I believe Town Moderator is the next step in my journey of public service. I look forward to sharing my time and talent with the citizens of Grafton.
