Letter: ‘Grafton can no longer afford to ‘wait and see’

Dear Grafton,

This election we have coming up on June 23rd is one of the most important we’ve seen in many years. During this campaign season, two candidates for Select Board have risen to the forefront, demonstrating through their words and actions that they are the leaders to see our town through this crisis.

Colleen Roy and Mat Often — both experienced, active members of the Finance Committee —are exactly the kind of intelligent, creative thinkers Grafton needs to tackle our town’s challenges.

Take a look at their campaign Facebook pages, and you’ll see that they’re more than just words. In their weekly videos, they are already addressing the most critical issues facing our town, and they offer real solutions that give us hope that things could actually improve. But don’t just take it from us — watch their videos on Facebook, see how they conduct themselves and offer valuable ideas in Finance Committee and Tri-Comm meetings (available on GCTV’s YouTube channel) and see for yourself how bright, prepared, and hard-working these two candidates are.

Grafton can no longer afford to “wait and see.” Our schools are in a critical position, our first responders can’t continue to operate effectively, we have a list of capital maintenance issues miles long, and a host of other issues persist.

In a town that needs informed, decisive leadership more than ever, Colleen Roy and Mat Often are exactly the people we need at the helm! And so, we ask you, Grafton, to join us in voting for Roy and Often for Select Board on June 23rd!
