With Planning Board OK, Grafton gets a step up on the wacky tobacky biz
Jushi Holdings has finally achieved its goal in Grafton: approval of both the Select Board and, Thursday night, the Planning Board to transfer the HCA and special permit for Nature’s Remedy.
The multi-state cannabis company is the in process of acquiring Nature’s Remedy, which has procrastinated on its plans to open a marijuana cultivation and processing facility at 8 Millennium Drive. While the towns of Millbury, Tyngsboro, and Lakeville quickly approved similar transfers, Grafton proved to be a bit more complex.
The company is unlikely to forget Grafton.
The Planning Board this week took the special permit transfer request as an opportunity to warn the company that the town wants more than a token hit on the marijuana front. Jushi Holdings representatives told the Planning Board that they have the funding that Nature’s Remedy lacked and agreed to keep town officials informed.
Grafton has the option to terminate the HCA after two years if no progress is made.
