Utzig named music director at Unitarian church

Lisa Utzig will take over as Music Director for the Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton & Upton in August.

Utzig comes with a strong musical background, having won the Ida Deck Haigh prize for distinguished piano achievement while at Smith College. She has performed with musical theater groups and choirs throughout central Massachusetts.

She started playing piano in churches at age 16.

Music is a key component of UUSGU. It supports and promotes the seven Unitarian Universalist principles as well as enhancing weekly UUSGU church services.

During the pandemic, the UUSGU Music Department began producing inspiring music videos that have been used by congregations throughout the country.
