Town House Tavern jumps in on the outdoor dining trend

Add the Town House Tavern to the growing list of Grafton eateries that will be offering outdoor dining.

“We’ve had calls about when we’re going to open it,” said former selectman Brook Padgett, who operates the bar along with his brother, Sean.

The Planning Board approved the minor modification to the tavern’s permit, which will allow a small number of tables in a fenced in grassy area behind the bar at One Grafton Common. As with other businesses offering outdoor dining, patrons will be required to order food alongside their alcohol.

Padgett said he expects to open seating on May 13.

Town House Tavern joins a number of Grafton restaurants who have received permission to have outdoor seating through December 1 to mitigate reduced business due to COVID-19:

  • Grafton Grill & Crust: Now includes a parking lot tent in addition to its small patio;
  • Post Office Pub: Has outdoor seating, no tent;
  • Reunion Tap & Table: Has a large parking lot tent in front of the building;
  • Pub 122: Will offer outdoor seating in the parking lot, no tent;
  • Cancuns: Will offer outdoor seating beside Lake Ripple; no tent.
