Since Dec. 1, Grafton has had 90 new COVID-19 cases

Grafton added another 35 positive diagnoses for COVID-19 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, continuing a surge that is reflected statewide.

The latest figures from the Central Mass Regional Health Alliance show 14 new cases December 5, 7 on December 6, and 11 on December 7, bringing the total cases since March to 351. Eleven Grafton deaths have been reported since the start of the pandemic.

There are 90 new cases since the first day of December.

Superintendent of Schools Jay Cummings, in an email to parents, said three people in the schools tested positive over the weekend:

  • One individual in the Grafton High School community has tested positive for COVID-19.  No close contacts were identified.
  • One individual in the Millbury Street Elementary community has tested positive for COVID-19. All close contacts have been notified and will not return to school until they have completed a 14-day quarantine.
  • Two individuals in the Grafton Middle School Community have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the cases has no close contacts.  Contact tracing is being performed on the second case.

In Massachusetts, there were 30,396 positive cases reported in the last seven days and 276 deaths over the same period, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
