It’s shearing day at Jay Cohen’s Angel Hair Alpaca ranch, and the results are piled high in his front yard.
Bags of white hair, brown hair, black hair. They used to adorn the 17 alpacas in Cohen’s herd on Wesson Road and now the fibers will be spun into yarn and used to make winter hats, scarves, socks, blankets, and even tiny alpacas.
The Cohen family’s award-winning alpacas have been a staple at Grafton events almost since the ranch started in 2007. Visit their online store to show goods made from their fleece.
