Not quite live! From Nate’s grandparents’ living room! It’s Some Good News: Grafton!
Inspired by actor John Krasinski’s “Some Good News” videos, the Grafton High School sophomore class officers decided it was time to highlight some of the good news in town.
Welcome to Some Good News: Grafton Edition.
“So the other sophomore class officers and I were talking about how we want to be able to continue what we are doing even during these tough times and saw what John Krasinski was doing and just loved it,” said Nate Briggs, who acts as the anchor for the broadcast. “I’m shooting and editing the whole thing on my phone straight from my grandparents living room. We are hoping to do it weekly if we can.”
Fellow class officers Marsela Jahja, Allyanna Lewis, and Sydney Matuzek took a look around Grafton and decided to spotlight, among other things, the baby swans on Lake Ripple, the parade in honor of Grafton resident Keith Love, Madigan Linnane’s front yard concert, and the work of the Grafton Food Bank.
Krasinski, of course, was able to get Lin-Manuel Miranda and the original cast of “Hamilton” to perform together for the first time since leaving the Tony Award-winning Broadway show. Briggs doesn’t have quite that kind of pull — yet — but he was able to do a lengthy video chat with Grafton native Ricky Duran, runner-up on “The Voice” season 7.
What will happen next on Some Good News: Grafton Edition? Probably something good.
