Most Grafton voters skipped state primary, opted to vote by mail
Most Grafton residents opted against voting in-person in Tuesday’s state primary, which may mean the Municipal Center’s new red mailbox will be brimming with ballots in the weeks leading up to the November 3 presidential election.
Of the 4,606 ballots cast for the primary, only about 1,500 voters chose to physically visit the polls Tuesday, Town Clerk Kandy Lavallee said. Last week’s early voting at the Municipal Center brought in 309 voters, while 2,700 either voted by mail or dropped their ballots in the new mailbox set aside for that purpose at the front of the Municipal Center.
“Bring on November!” Lavallee said.
