Miss browsing for books? Grafton Library will re-open in June, move back to Grafton Common in July
Another sign of COVID-19 restrictions lifting: the Grafton Public Library is temporarily reopening in June, with limited hours.
Curbside pickup will be suspended at the library’s temporary home at 53 North Main Street on May 24. In-person pickup and browsing will become available June 1 through July 2. The library will move to its newly renovated and expanded home back at Grafton Common in July.
The Library is available for browsing only, with no public seating. No toys, puzzles, or computers will be available. Free public WiFi is available outside and in the parking lot (password Libr@ry!). Copying, scanning and faxing will be available. Remote printing from your device — from home or the Library parking lot — is available and encouraged, via print.princh.com (printer ID 103048).
Passport, notary, proctoring, or computer assistance will not be available at this time. DIY and Make & Take kits will remain available on the covered porch, first come, first served.
Only 25 members of the public will be allowed inside at one time, restricting to no more than 10 in the Children’s Room and no more than 10 in the sanctuary where adult materials are housed. No more than one browser or family unit at a time in the Large Print, Audiobook or YA room. Magazines, Graphic Novels, music CDs and part of the YA collection will be available by request only, as some spaces remain closed to the public.
When at capacity, browsing will be limited to 20 minutes, the entry door will be locked and a socially distanced line will form outside, with new visitors allowed in as visitors leave.
Hours will be: Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday 2 -8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first hour of each day (10-11 a.m. or 2-3 p.m.) is designated for high-risk populations. No appointment is required.
Social distancing is encouraged where possible. Masks are required to enter the building and must remain on, covering your mouth and nose completely, for all patrons over 2 years of age, no exceptions. Patrons who cannot wear a mask will be served via No-Contact Curbside Pickup or Home Delivery by calling 508-839-4649 in advance.
