Marr seeks second term on School Committee
School Committee Chair Amy Marr was the first person to pull nomination papers for the May 17 Town Election, seeking re-election for another three years.
“It’s all about the students,” Marr said in campaign announcement. “I’m here to advocate for students and to ensure they have what they need to succeed.”
Two 3-year spots for School Committee, now held by Marr and Jennifer Connelly, will be on the ballot.
A joint meeting of the Select Board and School Committee Tuesday at 6 p.m. will choose an interim member to fill the spot formerly held by Rahul Rathi, who resigned in December. That person will hold office until the May election, with the remaining two years of the term up for election.
This would be Marr’s second term on the School Committee, where she has served as clerk and chair. Since being elected in 2019, Marr has served as the committee’s representative to the Capital Improvement and Planning Committee and the Grafton Sustainability Commission. She also represented the Grafton School Committee as the delegate to MASC Annual Meeting in 2020.
Her three-year term on the committee has seen important issues such as later start times, elimination of the high school mascot, and policies and financial decisions pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nomination papers are now available in the Town Clerk’s office. Aside from School Committee, seats on the ballot this year include:

- Board of Library Trustees – Two 3-year terms, currently held by Dana Wilson and Daniela Sharma, are up for election
- Planning Board – Two 3-year terms, currently held by David Robbins and Prabhu Balaji Venkataraman, are up for election
