Lackey named to Disabilities Commission

Melissa Lackey, chairperson of the Grafton Special Education Parent Advisory Committee, was named to the Disability Commission Wednesday night by the Select Board.

Both Lackey and Robert Perla applied for the empty spot. Praising both candidates for their interest and service to the town, the board unanimously opted for Lackey, citing her advocacy for adults as well as children with special needs.

Lackey has five family members with special needs and has chaired SEPAC for the past two years.

“Melissa brings a breadth of knowledge that is not currently available on this commission,” said Donna Stock, who serves as the Select Board’s representative to the Disability Commission.
