Hot dogs, horses, politics, and Shakespeare = a busy Grafton weekend

The question is not “what are you doing Saturday?” but “what are you NOT doing Saturday?”

It’s the most jam-packed Grafton Saturday since COVID-19 shut everything down in March 2020, and if you pace yourself, you can do it all:

Town Election Day: Yes, there’s an election — on a Saturday! Polls are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no contested races, but there is a single ballot question about the status of the fire chief. In any case, the town has a voting record to defend, so get out there.

Adams Acres Open House: You’ve seen this rapidly growing horse farm at 100 Brigham Hill Road from the outside, but 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can check it out for yourself. There will be vendors, miniature horse rides, farm equipment to explore, animals to meet (maybe I should stay away from goats), and riding instructors to discuss how to schedule lessons. Basically, if you have a horse girl and a truck boy in the family, you’re in luck.

Art Bradish Snack Bar opens: Follow the scent of onion rings and grilling hot dogs to 39 Shrewsbury Street and enjoy the unofficial start of summer in Grafton.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Grafton High School Theatre is having a play. INDOORS! Check out this production of Shakespeare’s classic comedy both Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Grafton High auditorium. Masks are required.

A massive amount of weekend reporting: Things must be getting back to normal. The camera battery is charged. The notebooks are in the car. Don’t forget to pop in on Grafton Common for stories and photos!
