Grafton Municipal Center, closed by COVID-19, will ease back into business
The town of Grafton is working on a phased approach to re-open the Municipal Center, another sign of business slowly inching back to normal in Massachusetts.
The announcement came on the same day Gov. Charlie Baker began implementing Phase I of the reopening plan for Massachusetts.
The town is working with the state Return to Work Committee on how to best open Municipal Center offices.
Key public health metrics will determine if and when it is appropriate to proceed through reopening phases for all businesses. They include:
- COVID-19 positive test rate;
- Number of individuals who died from COVID-19;
- Number of patients with COVID-19 in hospitals;
- Health care system readiness;
- Testing capacity;
- Contact tracing capabilities.
In Grafton, 73 confirmed cases have been reported. There are 9,252 cases in Worcester County, 86,010 in the state, and 5,797 deaths in the state.
