Grafton-based nonprofit honored for its efforts encouraging students to ‘Do Kind’
Do Kind, Inc., a Grafton-based nonprofit focused on empowering students to make the world a better place through random acts of kindness, has been awarded a $1,600 donation from LifeChanger of the Year.
Do Kind was started by Grafton Middle School Assistant Principal Timothy Fauth, who was also nominated for the 2019-20 LifeChanger of the Year award. The organization aids in school fundraising by challenging students to do random acts of kindness, with the school receiving funds if certain goals are met.
“The COVID-19 pandemic taught us that just because we aren’t physically together doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be carrying out our mission. Now more than ever, schools need any shot of social-emotional learning or fundraising they can get,” said Fauth. “The support of LifeChanger of the Year and the National Life Group Foundation will allow us to expand those efforts.”
Fauth plans on using the donation to help Do Kind form new partnerships, particularly with public school athletic departments.
LifeChanger of the Year is an annual program sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, which recognizes and rewards outstanding K-12 educators and school employees who have demonstrated a proven ability to make a beneficial difference in the lives of students. For each educator nominated during the holiday season, LifeChanger of the Year pledged to donate $25 to a nonprofit in their name. In total, LifeChanger of the Year donated $10,000 across five education nonprofits started by former LifeChanger nominees and award winners.
