Grab a big yellow bag and help clean up Grafton!
Sue Anderson and Carol Ziemba spent Saturday filling up 10 yellow bags with trash.
They were a week early from Grafton’s annual Clean-Up Day, but the lifelong South Grafton residents had both the equipment and the do-it-now mentality. The grabbed their bags from the Select Board’s office at the Municipal Center, provided the location to the DPW for collection, and took pride in a job well done.
“We spent 2.5 hours filling 10 bags of trash from Depot Road, starting at the bridge over the Blackstone up to the railroad bridge.,” Anderson said. “It is the road we walk almost everyday on our way to church, and felt we had to clean it up.”
Expect to see a few more yellow bags this week. In addition to grabbing the bags during business hours at the Municipal Center, residents can also show up at Grafton Common from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 23.
The event is sponsored by the Grafton Garden Club. To pre-register a team, contact Helen Blazis at markblazissafaris@gmail.com.
Once your bags are full and your area’s clean-up is complete, simply contact the Grafton DPW at 508-839-5335 ext. 1124. Once you provide the location of the full bags, they will collect them.

Way to go Carol, nice to see how proud you are of South Grafton. Obviously you worked very hard, I hope many other Graftonites will follow your lead.
