‘Goodbye Ride’ will parade Grafton High’s Class of 2020 on their last day of school

Grafton High School’s Class of 2020 has had to go without the traditional senior year traditions after COVID-19 shut down the schools, but a group of parents is hoping to give them at least one last chance to say goodbye.

The Goodbye Ride is a parade for seniors on what would have been their final day of school, May 27. The route will pass by all of the town’s schools and start and end at Grafton High School.

The first rule of the Goodbye Ride: No touching. The second rule: No messing around behind the wheel.

The group now is trying to get a headcount and is putting information together on its events page: https://www.facebook.com/events/3405295609483828/. They are also hoping to get teachers involved in some way along the route and enlist a police escort.

Seniors are asked to be at the school at 1:30 p.m., with the parade setting off at 2 p.m.

Rules:

  • No one is permitted to get out of their vehicle. There will be consequences.
  • If your windows are down you MUST wear a mask.
  • There will be no car pooling unless those in the car are blood related.
  • Absolutely no messing around behind the wheel during the parade.
  • No hugging or affection of any kind involving being closer than 6 feet is allowed during this time.
