Don’t order that Grafton Fire shirt! It’s a scam
Numerous residents received a text this week promoting “surprising cheap price” for a Friends of Grafton Fire Department shirt.
Surprise! It’s not only not a message from the Grafton Fire Department, but the messenger isn’t even a friend.
The Friends of the Grafton Fire Department confirmed that the message did not originate from them.
I”t has come to our attention that someone is sending messages regarding T-Shirts and claiming to be affiliated with the Friends of Grafton Fire Department,” the group wrote on their Facebook page. “This is a *SCAM* and this text did not originate from any administrator of this page nor from any members of the Grafton Fire Department.”
Fire departments around the country, including Massachusetts, have notified their residents about similar text messages. The Plymouth Fire Department posted a photo of the alleged department shirt, which bears the message “Stand for the flag, kneel for the fallen.”
Police Chief Normand Crepeau advised residents to not click on the link in the text message (which does not work on a computer).
